Lightlines

Privacy Notice

Effective October 12, 2026

Lightlines AI, Inc. ("Lightlines", "we", "us") runs Lightlines at https://lightlines.ai. This notice explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Contact: Lightlines AI, Inc., 2810 North Church Street, Wilmington, DE 19802, United States. Email: [email protected]

What we collect

  • Account details: your email address, your password if you set one (stored only as a secure hash), your display name, your handle and, if you add one, your profile picture.
  • Content you create: Skills, their files and notes, comments, and the Workspaces you create or join.
  • Sharing details: invitations and access you give or receive, including the email addresses you invite.
  • Sign-in details: your signed-in devices, their last use, and short-lived sign-in codes.
  • Agreement records: the Terms version you accepted, the Privacy Notice version shown to you, when, and your declaration that you are 16 or older.
  • Emails we send you, such as sign-in codes, invitations and notices.

If you choose Google sign-in, Google provides your account identifier, email address, email verification information and, when available, your name and organization domain. We use these to verify your identity, connect your Google and Lightlines accounts, and help you complete signup. Your name can prefill the display name, which you can change before signing up. We record when the connection was made and last used. Google sign-in does not give us your Google password or access to your Gmail messages or Drive files.

We use your IP address temporarily to protect the service from abuse, such as repeated sign-in attempts; we do not save it in your account.

Why we use it

  • To provide the service, manage your account and sign-in, and share Skills with the people you choose.
  • To send service emails, including verification codes, invitations, security notices and changes to these documents.
  • To protect the service and prevent abuse.
  • To meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data or use it for advertising. We do not use analytics or tracking tools.

Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing our contract with you, our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure, and legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We use service providers, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Cloudflare and Resend, to operate and support Lightlines, including hosting, storage, delivery and communications. They receive personal data only as needed for those services.

If you choose Google sign-in, Google processes that sign-in under its own privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy. We contact GitHub when a Skill points to a GitHub repository.

Public Skills and their comments can be seen by anyone. Shared Skills are visible to the people you share them with. We may also disclose data if the law requires it.

Cookies

We use necessary cookies to complete signup and sign-in and keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The website also saves a few preferences in your browser, such as your last Workspace.

How long we keep it

  • Account data and content: until you delete your account.
  • Active Google connection: until you unlink Google or delete your account. Unlinking does not delete your Lightlines profile or security notice records, which remain with your account data.
  • Incomplete Google signup details: usable for 30 minutes, then removed during subsequent signup activity; completing or cancelling signup also removes them.
  • Backups: up to 30 days. Deleted data may remain in encrypted backups until they expire.
  • A record of account deletion, with your email address in hashed form: 2 years.
  • Data export files: 7 days.
  • Sign-in codes and invitations: minutes to days, until they expire.

When you delete your account, Skills you saved in Workspaces shared with others stay there and are shown as saved by "Deleted account".

Your choices and rights

You can download your data, delete your account or update your details in account settings. You can also unlink Google there. If Google is your only sign-in method, set a password before unlinking it to keep access to your account.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the use of your personal data, and to complain to your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights, email [email protected].

Children

You must be 16 or older to create a Lightlines account.

Changes

If we change this notice, we will publish the new version on this page and email account holders about it.
