directory-build-organization

dotnet2.8k installs

Shared build settings for your .NET projects.

What it does

Centralizes shared MSBuild settings, targets, and package versions while keeping project-specific configuration in each project.

When to use it

Use for two or more projects with repeated MSBuild policy, targets, or package versions, or an existing Directory.Build hierarchy with import, placement, or layering defects, even if only one project is affected. Excludes single-project repositories without existing Directory.Build files, legacy-to-SDK migration, and non-MSBuild systems.

How to use it

Give it an MSBuild project hierarchy to organize; it proposes a layout for advice requests and changes project configuration only when explicitly asked to apply it.

What you provide

  • An existing project
