Node.js 22.13+ is required for the documented local CLI export extra; Markdown authoring itself needs no runtime.
A supported Chromium browser enables local rendering; the CLI installation may download a compatible browser.
The local export extra installs Mermaid CLI 12.0.0 and uses mmdc to export diagrams and convert Markdown.
