Set up MongoDB access without sharing secrets.
Guides users through choosing MongoDB authentication and configuring their agent client's connection and access mode without sharing credentials with the agent.
When to use it
Use when the MongoDB MCP server is installed but its required environment variables or MongoDB/Atlas credentials have not been configured.
Ask for MongoDB MCP setup help; it checks the environment, asks which connection option you want, and provides instructions for configuring credentials yourself.
The setup guide assumes the MongoDB MCP server is already installed.
Enables connection-string authentication as an alternative to service-account authentication. The user supplies it in the shell environment or Codex config.toml; the agent checks configuration with values redacted. Atlas Local requires no credentials.
